Taught by students and refugees, for students and refugees,
our program is unique.
One essential aspect of the Writing Partnership is to make sure that all the students involved in our program will not be denied access to higher education for reasons of financial instability, difficulty with the English language, past traumas, insufficient support or any other obstacles that may come up due to their status as refugees or immigrants.
We generally work with students in 11th and 12th grade (particularly the students in our scholarship program at Bishop Maginn). We help our students throughout the college applications and admissions process to ensure that they might have educational opportunities beyond high school. We currently have 10 students enrolled in higher education institutions, which include Siena College, Maria College, Hudson Valley Community College and the State University of New York at Buffalo. Our goal is to increase these numbers every year.
