NEWS, ANNOUNCEMENTS AND MORE
Check out this article (quoted below) and watch this video about our students playing baseball at Bishop Maginn High School!
"...for this team, wins and losses are almost an afterthought. Its purpose is bigger than baseball. Eight of the team's 13 players are members of the Karen ethnic minority ravaged by genocide in Myanmar. Before this spring, most of the refugees had never swung a bat or worn a glove."
We are overjoyed that our students were able to take advantage of this opportunity and look forward to their next season!

Check out this wonderful article about Ar Kee, a former Writing Partnership student who will begin attending the University of Buffalo in the fall of 2016
From Karen refugee to Albany High School graduate, Bethany Bump
"Ar Kee, an Albany High School graduate, is the first in his family to graduate high school. His family fled the Mae La refugee camp in Thailand for the U.S. in 2008, when he was 9 years old."
We are so proud of all that Ar Kee has accomplished and cannot wait to see what he does in the future!
